Your true dream
At the very basis of this card is dream fulfillment. I know from personal experience that it is easy to talk oneself out of pursuing dreams. However, it seems even harder to know what those dreams are exactly. I don’t mean something like a bucket list. Choosing an exotic solution to cure burn out is a foil that may actually be another form of abandoning one’s dreams.
Open that safe
Dreams can remain locked away, out of site, and out of the awareness of the conscious mind. I’m currently getting comfortable with the idea that what I really have always wanted is adventure. On the surface it might seem like playing and teaching the violin isn’t the typical definition of adventure. However, the time spent working with other musicians, learning and discovering music has been quite the adventure for me. It is so different from working in an office. Moreover, teaching in public school is the ultimate adventure!
Take that risk
Opening up to your authentic desires requires bravery. While your dreams have been buried, you have created a whole infrastructure designed to make it difficult, if not impossible to pursue those dreams. Relationships with family, friends and colleagues will be impacted. Financial issues need to be dealt with. You may even need to relocate to a different home and possibly to a different part of the world. Your inner self is pushing for the change and won’t be silent until you act.
