For teacher colleagues too!

It’s that time of the year
I’m finding myself relying heavily on my teacher colleagues. We’re getting into school concert and studio recital season. We still need to practice for our own concertizing. Meanwhile, we’re planning the teaching and performing for our summer music programs and getting our students ready for their summer camps and institutes. To top it all off, it’s also time to prepare the calendar for the 2024-25 school year and performance season.

Teaching means planning and preparing
As a public school orchestra teacher, I collaborate not only with other string teachers but also band, choral, general music, and classroom teachers. It’s the mutual sharing of advice among colleagues, for instance, to understand a student better, organize an annual special event, or about growing a music program whether in a school or independent studio.

Gratitude for my teacher colleagues
A very wise teacher recently commended the teachers in my area for our ability to work together and help each other. You probably feel this way about your teacher colleagues too. I would love to hear about it!
