Something to look forward to. Play stimulates creativity, reduces stress, increases a sense of well-being, and provides social engagement. Step away from reality and enter into the world of your imagination.
Play is another way to experience “flow.” I find that focusing on creative projects and not spending a lot of time on social media or reading the news helps to lighten my mood. When I’m in a better mood, I feel more creative. When I’m more creative, I feel more light hearted and excited about the future.
Examine how you enter into a state of fun and game play. What is your version of having fun? Do you enjoy games and team sports? Do you enjoy being out in nature and playing with animals? Do you enjoy creative projects such as cooking or arts and crafts? Do you include play in your work?
