Studying Music Theory

Studying music theory is an extremely important component of musical education at any level of experience. Focusing on good intonation is a logical next step in the music theory process. It is bringing music theory to the violin in a very real way. Intonation work is an important component in every lesson. Everyone needs to resolve their home tuning issues. You must tune your instrument every time you practice and your instrument may need to be tuned several times during a practice session. Practicing on an instrument that is out of tune is very bad ear training. I recommend using an electronic tuner that has a clip that can be attached to the bridge. It is a very accurate way to tune your instrument. Please feel free to ask for tuning lessons.
