Wisdom vs. oracle

Why use wisdom or oracle cards?
I started using these cards back in the 90’s. They were a quick and easy way to shift my perspective. There could be a specific issue I was trying to clear up, a way to start the day off with some wisdom, or for broader insight about life in general. There are hundreds if not thousands of wisdom and oracle decks in print now covering myriad topics.

Wisdom vs. oracle
Wisdom cards typically say something inspirational meant to help you feel good and perhaps get you unstuck. Oracle cards venture more into divination. However, both can be used either way. Playing cards actually have their roots in divination and are still used that way besides for game play. The image as well as any text should be considered in the “reading” of the card.

The “wisdom” of the Inspiration for Violinists card deck
When I made the decision to go forward with producing this card deck, I worked with readers who use cards in their practice. I wanted to understand the system underlying their decks in order to have a coherent theme connecting all of my cards. Meanwhile, I tried to not enable their functioning as divination cards such as how a tarot deck works.

Violinist Linda Beers is the creator of the Inspiration for Violinists, a 50 card deck. Each card has a unique image and text inspiring musicianship, mindfulness and spirituality.
